This Gena Koburi Mincho was improved on Amazon Kindle Paperwhite/Oasis to make it easier to apply Gena Koburi Mincho as much as possible.
Kindle officially has the ability to use non-built fonts by placing external fonts in the \Kindlefonts folder.
However, when using non-built fonts, there is a specification that refers to standard fonts if the font does not have italic glyphs, and to avoid this, I created a gen subfont.
It can also be used on other devices such as PCs and smartphones, but these devices have the ability to make the standard body look italic, so there is no benefit to using this font. We recommend using Genjo Koburi Mincho.
The name comes from the name "Gen" of the font of the main character, Akimasou/Amao (Amazon), and the subspecies "A". The mnemonics are bad.
If you put two GenAKoburiMinchoVertical-**.ttf in the \Kindlefonts folder, you can set it for vertical writing, and if you put GenAKoburiMinchoHorizontal-**.ttf, you can set it for horizontal writing on your Kindle.
If you do not need it, delete these files.
Some books specify Mincho/Gothic font, and if a font different from the main text is specified, the built-in Mincho/Gothic font will be loaded. This is an unavoidable specification.
Note that if these .ttf files are combined into .ttc files, bold and italic fonts will not work, so we do not recommend using them by modifying them into .ttc files.
Regarding the standard (Regular), the glyphs from the original Genjo Koburi Mincho have not been changed at all. In order to be compatible with bold and italic fonts, we have limited the settings for font names, etc.
Italics are functions of fontforge, and the standard and bold are distorted at an angle of 13 degrees towards the end of the sentence. The distorted direction is different for vertical and horizontal writing.
