1. Description of the software

The merchandise transport process is important for a transport company, since it is part of its internal or external processes. The process consists of loading a trailer of a truck with the merchandise to be sent and then assign a route to the truck where the merchandise must be transported. After reaching its destination the truck downloads the merchandise, waiting for its return (possibly empty). The way in which the trucks of the companies of Cartagena transport the goods, lacks management, making the knowledge of the availability and location of these complicated, when a company wants to carry a merchandise from a city X to a city and has no knowledge of the availability of a truck of the city and that is in the city X, generating more costs and a wasteful resource. It is expected to take data on truck routes and their availability. The data are:

• Location of trucks.
• Truck routes.
• Availability of trucks. With these data we hope to generate the frequency of use of a route, the availability of a truck to return to the origin of the route that has just made and the optimization of the resources (truck).

2. Objectives

2.1. General objective

• Develop software that supports the transport process of a company at the managerial level.

2.2. Specific objectives

• Design each system module based on the requirements obtained from the problem description.
• Build the software based on the proposed designs.
• Perform functionality tests.
