当前,只有一个控制台驱动程序(TTY子系统)和SD/EMMC卡驱动程序(块设备子系统)。块驱动程序子系统为文件系统从磁盘读取的缓存块提供了一个bufcache。借用为可变的块被标记为脏,并将写回下一个块提交。 EXT2写作支持尚未经过很好的测试,因此目前禁用承诺。
应用程序可以用Rust编写,并与随附的库一起编译,这些库使用AARCH64 SVC指令对操作系统进行系统调用。它目前支持基本文件操作以及exit , fork和exec 。操作系统可以直接加载由货物作为应用产生的精灵二进制文件,并运行它们。可以使用一个简单的外壳程序(在初始化后内核启动)和ls命令,但仅在概念阶段。
该OS由一个内核和一些应用程序组成,这些应用程序都分别编译。可以将应用程序加载到EXT2分区中,可以由内核读取,但是内核需要单独加载,因此不包含在图像中。
通常,当覆盆子Pi靴子时,固件在包含文件kernel8.img的microSD卡上寻找脂肪分区,然后将其加载在地址0x80000并运行。内核运行后,它可以安装任何其他分区以用作根文件系统。在QEMU中运行时,内核图像将在命令行上传递,以及包含EXT2分区的磁盘图像的文件名。
项目根中提供了一个makefile,以构建EXT2磁盘映像。为了使在QEMU或硬件上测试代码变得更容易,它创建了一个与microSD卡相同的磁盘映像(即脂肪分区和EXT2分区)。使用QEMU时,脂肪分区将被忽略。
要创建图像,从Linux计算机运行:

make load-image这将创建一个新的4GB图像文件,使用mkfs.ext2在其内部创建一个新的文件系统,将其安装在<project>/build环回设备中,然后编译并将应用程序加载到其中。它还将硬编码的分区表复制到图像中,该表复制了硬件使用的分区。

在QEMU中运行时,从控制台复制以下输出。它有很多调试消息可以显示发生的事情。它首先设置内核堆和页面内存,注册文件系统类型,初始化设备驱动程序并安装root ext2分区。然后,它执行许多测试以检查基本文件系统功能,然后启动第一个过程(Shell)。然后在启动ls程序的“ <>”之间键入命令,在/中打印了文件和目录的列表,然后退回回Shell提示。
