Tencent Hunyuan recently announced the launch of five new 3D generation models. These models are built on Hunyuan3D-2.0 technology, which not only significantly improves the generation speed, but also reaches a new level in detail richness and material expression. These models are now all open source for use by developers and creators. At the same time, Tencent’s self-developed 3D AI creation engine has also been fully upgraded and has now been opened to C-end users, further lowering the threshold for 3D creation.
Among these new models, the Turbo series model achieves dozens of times acceleration through the 3D generation acceleration framework FlashVDM proposed by Tencent Hunyuan, shortening the generation process to complete within 30 seconds. The multi-view version model Hunyuan3D-2-MV can better capture details and generate 3D assets that meet users' expectations. The lightweight mini series model reduces computing power demand through architectural optimization and can be deployed on 4080 graphics cards or even Apple M1Pro chips, providing more users with convenient 3D generation solutions.

The upgraded Tencent Hunyuan 3D AI creation engine supports multi-view input. Users only need to upload 2-4 standard viewing images to quickly generate high-quality 3D models, greatly reducing the production costs of game production, 3D UGC creation and other scenarios. The engine's 3D intelligent surface reduction capability can adaptively generate triangular surfaces of hundreds to thousands of faces, improve geometric edge smoothness, maximize model details on the basis of low faces, and provide creators with more flexible and efficient creative tools.

In terms of material performance, this upgrade has achieved the improvement of material generation effect of PBR (based on physical rendering technology), and gives the model more realistic color and material expression through physical characteristic simulation technology. In terms of compatibility, in addition to general OBJ, GLB, and FBX, it can also output mainstream formats such as STL, USDZ and MP4, seamlessly connect 3D printing tools, support quick preview of the model and real-time interaction on the mobile terminal, further expanding the application scenarios of 3D models.
It is reported that Tencent Hunyuan 3D generation model has been widely used in UGC, product material synthesis, game 3D asset generation and other scenarios. In the game business, the 3D models generated by the big model can meet the requirements of some game 3D asset standards, including geometric wiring rationality, mapping accuracy and bone skin rationality, providing game developers with more efficient and convenient 3D asset generation solutions.
