At the "Toutiao Platform Governance Open Day" event held today, Yan Mengru, head of Toutiao security operations, introduced in detail the latest progress and future plans of the platform in content governance. She particularly emphasized the platform's efforts and achievements in combating homogeneous content, online fraud and online water army.
In response to the problem of the flood of homogeneous content, Yan Mengru pointed out that with the popularization of AI technology, it has become easier to draft manuscripts for low-quality content. She mentioned that some professional drafting tools such as "Ant AI" have further aggravated this phenomenon. To cope with this problem, Toutiao has dealt with more than 7.81 million homogeneous content in the past year and processed more than 63,000 illegal accounts. In addition, the platform also cooperated with the police to file two cases of local gangs' homogeneous rumors, and issued 6 governance announcements to warn users and content creators.

Toutiao has also achieved remarkable results in online fraud and online water army governance. The platform has intercepted more than 15 billion false traffic, disposed of 13,960 naval army recruitment content, banned more than 720,000 illegal accounts, and banned more than 6,000 illegal accounts. These measures have effectively curbed online fraud and naval army activities, and improved the platform's content quality and user experience.
Looking ahead to 2025, Yan Mengru said that Toutiao will continue to upgrade its model recognition capabilities, further increase offline crackdowns, and strengthen education for content creators. Through these measures, the platform hopes to further improve the governance level and provide users with a safer and healthier content environment.
