On February 24, the State Intellectual Property Office issued an important notice announcing that a number of malicious registration of trademarks such as "DeepSeek" were rejected in accordance with the law. This measure aims to maintain a fair and competitive market order and protect the legitimate rights and interests of innovative entities, demonstrating the country's firm determination to protect intellectual property rights.
The notice mentioned that the DeepSeek artificial intelligence model recently developed by Hangzhou DeepQuSuo Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd. has attracted widespread attention worldwide. With its outstanding technical strength and huge market potential, the model quickly became the focus of the field of artificial intelligence, attracting the attention of many technology enthusiasts and industry experts.

However, as DeepSeek's popularity continues to increase, some companies and natural persons maliciously snatched the "DEEPSEEK" and related graphic trademarks with the same name as the well-known artificial intelligence model for improper purposes, and submitted a registration application to the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office. What is even more worrying is that some trademark agencies are also suspected of participating in it and providing illegal services. Their motivation for "taking advantage of hot spots" and intending to seek improper benefits is very obvious.
In response, the State Intellectual Property Office made it clear that it will never tolerate such malicious registration and will resolutely crack down on it. In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, the State Intellectual Property Office has made a decision to reject a total of 63 trademark registration applications including No. 82848449 "DEEPSEEK" in accordance with the law. This measure not only maintains market order, but also provides a fairer competitive environment for innovative entities, further promoting the improvement of my country's intellectual property protection system.
