Recently, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) officially issued the international standard for elderly care robots formulated by my country, numbered IEC63310, with the full name "Property Guidelines for Active Assisted Living Robots Used in Interconnected Home Environments". The release of this standard marks an important breakthrough in my country's technological innovation and standardization work in the field of elderly care robots, and provides important technical support for the development of the global elderly care industry.
The core content of this standard revolves around the physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly, and pays special attention to the needs of the elderly in daily life and health care in the interconnected home environment. By clarifying the technical specifications for elderly care robots in product design, manufacturing, testing and certification, this standard provides relevant enterprises with a scientific and unified benchmark, which helps to improve the safety and practicality of elderly care robots and further promotes the intelligent development of the elderly care industry.

According to data from the World Health Organization, the global population over 60 is expected to reach 2.1 billion by 2050, of which more than 426 million are older than 80 years old. With the intensification of population aging, the problems of functional decay in the elderly population in terms of perception, physical strength and cognition are becoming increasingly prominent, and some elderly people may even face the risk of disability. This trend poses severe challenges to the global elderly care service system, and also provides a broad market space for the development of elderly care robot technology.
The emergence of elderly care robots has far-reaching social significance. On the one hand, it can effectively reduce the care burden of the society and families on the elderly and alleviate the problem of insufficient nursing resources; on the other hand, elderly care robots support the elderly to live independently at home by providing personalized auxiliary services, improve their quality of life and maintain their dignity. With the continuous advancement of technology, elderly care robots will play an increasingly important role in the future elderly care system and provide innovative solutions to a global aging society.
