Viam recently announced the successful completion of a US$30 million Series C financing round, led by existing investor Union Square Ventures, and attracted the active participation of Battery Ventures, European investment group Neurone and other existing investors. The financing has brought Viam's total financing amount since its establishment to US$117 million. Viam is an engineering platform focused on data, artificial intelligence and automation technologies, dedicated to providing innovative technology solutions to various industries.
Eliot Horowitz, founder and CEO of Viam, said: “We are very fortunate to be able to join hands with partners like Union Plaza Venture Capital, who are willing to increase their support for us. At the same time, we look forward to working with Neurone to further promote our global development goals, especially in Italy and other regions of Europe.” In 2024, Viam made significant progress in a variety of industries, including robotics, fast food, climate technology, marine and industrial manufacturing, further expanding its customer base.
Last October, Viam reached an innovative partnership with the New York Islanders and UBS Arena to become the venue’s official AI technology partner. Viam’s software will enhance the fan experience in many aspects of the arena. In addition, Viam has established a partnership with Viking Yachts, the world's leading marine manufacturer, and launched a pilot project with global technology provider Kongsberg Discovery to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance sonar technology in the fishery sector. Viam's customers also include Sbarro, Swiss nuclear engineering company Transmutex, automated kitchen company Appetronix, and smart workplace security platform CompScience.
“Viam is closing the key gap between AI, data and the many devices we touch every day. Eliot and his team are building a world-class enterprise in New York City and we are excited to continue to support them,” said Albert Wenger, partner at United Plaza Venture Capital. “The involvement of Neurone Investment Group has provided important support for Viam’s expansion in the European market. Neurone’s co-investors include the family offices of Italian industry leaders who actively explore the future of the industry and related technologies.
"We work directly with leading Italian industrial families, who are thinking about the future of the industry and the technologies that drive growth. Viam is building this critical software layer, and we are excited to advance this vision with Eliot and the team," said Teodoro D'Ambrosio, founder of Neurone. "Viam's technology platform enables hardware and software engineers to collaborate to develop technical solutions for all kinds of devices and intelligent machines in the physical world. Viam was founded in 2020 by Eliot Horowitz, former MongoDB CTO.
