On February 18, Beijing Yuezhi Dark Side Technology Co., Ltd. announced the launch of the latest model - kimi-latest on the Kimi open platform, aiming to provide developers and enterprise users with stronger and more stable AI generation capabilities. Since the public beta of Kimi's open platform on January 31, 2024, the moonshot-v1 series model has been the core support of Kimi's smart assistant. However, with the rapid iteration of Kimi Smart Assistant, the demand for model stability and functions of development platform users has gradually differentiated, prompting the launch of this new model by Dark Side Technology.

The kimi-latest model will always be benchmarked against the latest model currently used by Kimi Smart Assistant and will be upgraded simultaneously with product updates. This feature ensures that open platform users can not only experience the excellent effects brought by the latest models, including experimental features that have not yet been stable, but also maintain the stability of the original models. The kimi-latest model has a context length of 128k, and can automatically select 8k, 32k or 128k models as the billing standard based on the context length. In addition, this model supports functions such as image understanding, automatic context caching, etc. The cost of tokens hits is only 1/M Tokens, and manual context caching is not supported yet. Other features are consistent with the moonshot-v1 series models, including ToolCalls, JSON Mode, Partial Mode and network search functions.
The kimi-latest model is suitable for a variety of scenarios. For developers who use big model chat applications, such as ChatWise, ChatBox, LobeChat, OpenCat, etc., kimi-latest is the best choice and can provide a chat experience similar to Kimi Smart Assistant. For users who need to perform intent identification or structured data extraction, the moonshot-v1 series model is more suitable. At present, kimi-latest only supports calling the kimi normal version model, and the Kimi k1.5 long thinking model does not support API calls at the moment. If there are relevant requirements, users can submit a test application by filling out the Kimi k1.5 application form. Monthly Dark Side Technology will evaluate based on the application information and contact the user who has passed the review by email to provide an API key to access the Kimi k1.5 model.
The launch of the kimi-latest model marks the further development of Moon Dark Side Technology in the field of AI open platform. Through continuous optimization and upgrading of models, the company is committed to providing developers with more efficient and smarter tools to promote the application and innovation of AI technology in more fields.
