Recently, popular science blogger "Three Dads Laboratory" broke the news on a social platform that after Tencent Yuanbao connected to the DeepSeek AI system, it was suspected that commercial advertisement implantation appeared in his answer. This incident has attracted widespread attention, especially when users asked about "air conditioner relocation" suggestions to avoid pits, Yuanbao recommended third-party service platforms such as "58 Home Delivery" and "Quick Recycling". This phenomenon has puzzled many users and questioned whether the AI system has been commercially promoted without the user's consent.

In response to this incident, Tencent's public relations director Zhang Jun responded quickly. He said that in theory, AI systems should not have advertising implants, and a technical team has been arranged to conduct an investigation. Zhang Jun speculated that this phenomenon may be because Yuanbao quoted the content of the pit avoidance guide published by the "58 Home" official account when he turned on the network search function. He suggested that users can further verify whether the answer is of advertising through continuous questions to ensure the transparency and fairness of the information.
At the same time, the WeChat search function has also been adjusted simultaneously. Some users found that in the search page at the top of the WeChat dialog box, a prompt "Download Yuanbao (Experience DeepSeek R1)" appeared. This change shows that Tencent is gradually integrating AI technology into its core products to enhance user experience.

In response, WeChat official stated that WeChat Souyisou is testing the DeepSeek system to enrich the search experience. However, users' enthusiasm for using them far exceeded expectations, resulting in resource tightness. In order to ensure that more users can experience DeepSeek faster and more stable, Tencent urgently coordinated the deployment and called Yuanbao to support this function so that users can experience the DeepSeek-R1 full-blood version and the latest Hunyuan deep thinking model T1 (Thinker).
At present, these two new functions are still in the small-scale grayscale testing stage. WeChat recommends that users experience related services based on the actual interface prompts. This incident not only reflects that the AI model still needs to be improved in terms of third-party content citation mechanism and commercialization boundaries, but also exposes the service bearing pressure that Tencent faces in promoting the implementation of AI technology. In the future, how to ensure user experience and information transparency while innovating technologically will be a key issue that Tencent needs to solve.
