The last official update of the html standard occurred in 1999. Companies such as Google, Apple, Opera and Mozilla have been working on creating a new generation of HTML standards, but Microsoft's enthusiasm for participation has been low.
However, Adrian Bateman, IE development manager, said Friday that the IE team hopes to share their views on html 5 and participate in the discussion on the development of the standard. Butman said that although the IE team is currently asking questions rather than giving solutions, public discussion is the best way to promote the development of HTML 5.
Currently, many major improvements have been included in the draft HTML 5 specification, such as built-in support for video and audio, and the ability to store data on local computers.
The latest browsers of Google, Apple and Mozilla have been promoting the HTML 5 feature, but Microsoft has been cautious in this regard.
