Article introduction of Wulin.com (www.vevb.com): IE9 beta's support for HTML5/CSS3.
The IE9beta version has been released for a few days, and I also experienced it as soon as possible, but due to time issues, this log has not been published. Well, I am quite busy recently. In fact, I don’t have big time, and the fragmented time is not very efficient. So the blog has been updated slowly recently...
Some people say that IE9 is a second revolution of Microsoft. I think this statement is nothing at all. Since IE6, the update of IE has not been so thorough. It fully supports DOM level 2, fully supports CSS2.1, and has a more streamlined interface... Of course, what we care most about is how IE9 supports HTML5 and CSS3~~
In Microsoft's own ietestcenter website, we see this chart:
When I saw this picture, I felt that Yali was very big. I was thinking to myself, is IE9 so awesome? After carefully reading the instructions, I realized that the test project here is just an entry submitted by Microsoft to W3C, and is not the complete content. For example, in CSS3, it only contains 5 technologies, not all CSS3 content - a strong BS came to Microsoft and almost fell for it...
In fact, it is very simple to understand the support of a browser for HTML5/CSS3. Modernizr introduced in the previous article is a very good tool. I'm lazy and just visit findmebyip to see IE9beta's support for them:
IE9 supports new features of CSS3:It can be seen that IE9beta's support for new features of CSS3 is still very weak.
IE9 support for CSS3 selectors:IE9 finally supports CSS selector in full!
IE9 supports new HTML5 features:IE9beta's support for the new HTML5 features is also incomplete, and the support for audio and video is very weak. Although the IE team said it will support WebM, it has not been implemented yet (PS: In the test of the HTML5test.com website, IE9beta supports H.264 format video). In addition, support for SVG is one of Microsoft's benchmarks for promoting IE9, but how good is IE9's support for SVG? Let’s take a look at the kingly way! PS: IE6-IE8 does not support SVG, so that related technology applications should be replaced by Microsoft's own VML in IE.
IE9 support for HTML5 forms:IE9's support for HTML5 forms has always been my most concerned. If the IE official version still does not support HTML5 forms in the end, then this is definitely a failed browser.
In fact, we know that IE9 has made great progress, but some of its performances make us dare not have too much hope for it. For example, hardware acceleration is a great feature, which can make browser render faster, but even without hardware acceleration, Chrome is already so fast. But I really can't figure out why hardware acceleration requires DirectX 9+, and it must be a Windows 7 system. Compared with webkit's webGL acceleration, this strategy does not have many advantages, unless Microsoft can upgrade all XP users to Windows 7!
Well, I made a simple review. I hope IE can release and update in a better way. The coexistence of the four versions of IE6-IE9 will make people crazy...
