At the Shanghai World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Alibaba Cloud CTO Zhou Jingren grandly announced the latest progress of the Tongyi big model and Alibaba Cloud Bailian platform. The number of downloads of Tongyi Qianwen open source models has achieved an astonishing double growth in just two months, breaking through the 20 million mark. At the same time, the number of customers served by Alibaba Cloud Bailian has surged from 90,000 to 230,000, with a growth rate of more than 150%, demonstrating Alibaba Cloud's strong development momentum in the field of AI.
Zhou Jingren particularly emphasized Alibaba Cloud's firm commitment to open source and pointed out that Tongyi Qianwen has achieved full-size and full-modal open source, completely breaking the boundary between open source and closed source models. The Tongyi big model series continues to optimize its performance and has achieved results comparable to GPT-4Turbo in the OpenCompass evaluation, marking the strong competitiveness of domestic big models in the global AI field.
The Tongyi Qianwen series of models covers multiple fields such as language, multimodal, hybrid expert and code model, and has achieved outstanding results in multiple authoritative evaluations. In particular, the newly launched Qwen2-72B model is widely popular among developers worldwide and has won high scores in model evaluations such as Compass Arena and Open LLM Leaderboard, further consolidating its position on the international AI stage.
In order to lower the threshold for using large models and accelerate the popularization of AI applications, the Tongyi Qianwen series of models has implemented a significant price reduction, with the price reduction of the main models being as high as 97%, greatly reducing the cost of use. After the price reduction, the number of customers calling big models on Alibaba Cloud has increased significantly, and many well-known companies have become Alibaba Cloud's customers, further promoting the widespread application of AI technology.
As an important platform for carrying cloud + AI capabilities, Alibaba Cloud Bailian Platform provides fully managed large-scale model customization and application services, and is compatible with open source frameworks and supports openness and freedom. Bailian platform integrates hundreds of large-scale model APIs, covering mainstream domestic and foreign manufacturers, and supports enterprises to list models, providing developers with diverse choices and greatly enriching the ecosystem of AI applications.
