In April 2009, Baidu launched the Phoenix Nest Project and the Aladdin Project. At the same time, Baidu search engine also entered a period of violent turmoil this month. Until May 7, countless webmasters' site snapshots were stuck on April 30.
On May 14, Baidu made another adjustment, and the number of inclusions for most sites began to increase. However, the inclusion results of the sites no longer read descriptions, but instead read content at random locations on the website page. After observation, the middle content of the web page is generally read.
These two months have undoubtedly been a torturous two months for webmasters, and various forums are full of complaints. The same goes for the author's site www.acedog.com.
On May 3, site inclusion began to decline, and all keyword rankings were lost.
On May 7, the site snapshot ended on April 30, and the number of inclusions continued to decline.
On May 14, the number of inclusions rebounded, and the site snapshot returned to May 7. But the homepage is hidden.
As of today, there has been no change in the website’s performance on Baidu.
It is said that these two plans launched by Baidu are to improve user experience. In my opinion, these two plans have similar effects to Google's current charging business. The first is the Phoenix Nest plan. The Phoenix Nest system is equivalent to Google’s right-side ranking. Let the company's information appear on the right side, which coincides with the ranking on the right side of Google's bidding. It also solves the problem that Baidu's left side position has become oversaturated and the bidding is fierce.
Next is the Aladdin Project. Project Aladdin is more likely to be launched in response to the new search features that Google has previously launched. In order to enhance the user experience, Google.com has added several new features to its search page: an upward arrow and a cross button appear on the right side of each search result. Users can click the up arrow on a certain search result item to make that search result appear. As the entry ranks higher, click the cross button to hide the entry, and there will be a comment icon below the search results. Baidu's Aladdin plan is also based on user experience. The difference is that Google allows individual users to adjust their search results after logging in. Baidu, on the other hand, adjusts search results by manually reviewing data.
In any case, Baidu's changes to these two plans have, to some extent, caused most webmasters to return to pre-liberation overnight. Although it is unclear how long this round of changes in Baidu will last and how long it will take for the site to recover, but as long as we continue to follow Baidu's footsteps of enhancing user experience and continue to improve the site, it should not be far away that the site's vitality is restored.
