Google's Gemini artificial intelligence application has officially landed in the Indian market and supports nine major Indian languages, marking another important progress in Google's global AI layout. This move aims to further expand Gemini's global user base, especially India, a huge smartphone market. The Gemini application provides convenient voice and text interaction methods, and provides a paid advanced version "Gemini Advanced" to meet more complex application needs.
Google announced on Tuesday that its artificial intelligence-based Gemini mobile application has officially entered the Indian market. In addition to English, it also supports nine major Indian local languages including Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil.
The app allows users to type or voice interact in any supported language, leveraging the Gemini artificial intelligence assistant for assistance. Previously, the Gemini app was first launched in the United States in February this year, and subsequently covered many overseas markets such as Europe and East Asia.

It is worth mentioning that the Indian version of the Gemini app also has a built-in option to access the "Gemini Advanced" paid premium experience. Based on Google's latest Gemini 1.5 Pro large model, the Advanced version provides a 1 million token window, can handle tasks such as 1,500-page documents and complex data analysis, and also supports nine Indian languages.
As the world's second-largest smartphone market by population, India has always been a strategic market focused on by technology companies. Through localized speech recognition and content understanding capabilities, Google is expected to make Gemini artificial intelligence applications more widely used among Indian users.
In addition, Google also plans to integrate Gemini into the Indian iOS version of the Google app in the next few weeks. At the same time, the Gemini AI assistant function on Google Messages will also be enabled starting today. The company had previously shared the potential application prospects of Gemini in many Google product lines at the I/O conference.
Google's move demonstrates its commitment to popularizing AI technology to more regions and people around the world, meeting the needs of users with different language and cultural backgrounds, and further consolidating its leading position in the field of artificial intelligence. In the future, Gemini’s performance in the Indian market is worth looking forward to.
