yomi-KAI

overview

yomi-KAI is a bot that reads out text sent to Discord's text channel through a voice channel.
Since it can be run on your own PC, it is less likely to concentrate load than other publicly available reading bots, and it works stably .

Under preparation

environment

• Python 3.9 and above
• FFmpeg 4.4 or higher

Dependent libraries

• discord.py 2.0 or higher
• python-voicetext

How to install

Windows

1. Create a bot from the Discord Developer Portal and grant all Privileged Gateway Intents permissions.
2. Register with the VoiceText Web API and receive the API key.
3. Create a project in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), enable the Cloud Text-to-Speech API to receive the service account key (JSON file).
4. Download and unzip yomi-KAI-v***.zip from Releases.
5. Open config.ini.example and enter the API key for Discord's token VoiceText and the GCP key directory (including filename).
6. Save as in config.ini .
7. Run windows_setup.bat

Linux

1. Same as Windows 6.
2. Install Python, FFmpeg, portaudio19-dev
3. pip install -r requirements.txt

How to start

Windows

Run yomi-KAI.exe .

Linux

Run yomi-KAI.py .

Connect to the same voice channel as the speaker.

y.dc

Disconnect from the voice channel.

y.dict

This is a dictionary operation. For more information, see y.dict help .

y.help

Displays this help.

You can change the settings from config.ini . The currently available items are as follows:

• Prefix
• Speaker (voice quality)

supplement

• When updating this program, please manually transfer the dictionary data. The location of the dictionary data is ./dict/ .
• Discord.py v1.7.3 does not work.
• When starting with exe, there will be a slight delay compared to starting with python.
