BRAZIL TTS

Brazil TTS is a set of voice synthesizers, in Portuguese Portuguese , who reads screens for visually impaired. Transforms text into audio, allowing blind or low vision people to have access to the content displayed on the screen. Although the main target audience of speech conversion systems-such as Brazil TTS-is formed by visually impaired people, this type of program can be used by people with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, people with severe speech disabilities, as well as pre-alphabetized children. In addition to being an assistive technology tool, voice synthesizers can also have pedagogical and entertainment applications. It is under the license :

Installation:

 git clone https://github.com/felipefacundes/brasiltts
cd brasiltts

• You can execute:

 chmod +x INSTALL.sh
yes s | sh INSTALL.sh

Or manually:

 sudo cp *tts-generic.conf /etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/
sudo cp speechd.conf /etc/speech-dispatcher/

Installation of dependencies:

• The dependencies are:

  • Speak-Eng
  • Speech-discipatcher
  • orca
  • onboard

• Installation by Archlinux

 sudo pacman -S espeak-ng speech-dispatcher orca onboard

 sudo pacman -U mbrola-3.0.1h-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
sudo pacman -U mbrola-voices-br1-971105-5-any.pkg.tar.xz
sudo pacman -U mbrola-voices-br4-1-2-any.pkg.tar.xz
sudo pacman -U mbrola-voices-br3-000119-4-any.pkg.tar.xz

• By Debian and derivatives:
  • If you do not have MBROLA in the repository.
  • Should first convert the packages ".tar.xz" in ".deb"
  • Use the Alien command to convert
  • After, just install with the DPKG command
  • Rename the ".pkg.tar.xz" files
  • For ".pkg.tar.gz"

 fakeroot alien -d "nome".pkg.tar.gz
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Fedora and derivatives: Alien also generates packages ".rpm"

 fakeroot alien -r "nome".pkg.tar.gz

Finishing Installation

• Close everything and kill the session

 pkill -9 -u $USER

• Start x and type at the terminal

 orca -s

• On the guide: "voice" .
• Configure, choosing one of the three Brazilian voices, according to your preference:
  • Speech System: Speech Dispatch
  • Speech synthesizer: angelotts / or maricotatts / or nordestinotts
  • Character: Standard Voice for Angelotts (PT) / Maricotatts (PT) / Nordestinotts (PT)

If the Onboard is not starting, along with the system. Include no ~/.xinitrc

 onboard --not-show-in=GNOME,GNOME-Classic:GNOME --startup-delay=3.0 &

• Or

 cp /etc/xdg/autostart/onboard-autostart.desktop ~/.config/autostart/

Activating the onboard is required, so that programs that have the accessibility feature, such as okular, can work properly. Be sure to activate the onboard! ;)

You can install each voice character, individually .

Installing individually , it works better than having the three voices in the system. To install the voice of your choice , just visit the individual repository of each project.

Angelo is the name of my late father. Angelotts is a tribute to João Angelo. True Hero Father.

Maricota is my mother's nickname, Maricotatts is a tribute to Dona Maria. "Little", great warrior.

Nordestinotts is a tribute, to the northeastern Brazilian people. Wonderful people, hospitals and cheerful.

GUGLINA is an acronym of: Google + Regina. A tribute to Paulista: Regina Bittar, responsible for Google's voice in Brazil.
