"What Things in the Ming Dynasty" is a set of historical novels about the Ming Dynasty in China serialized on the Internet, with the author being Mingyue of that year. It was first published in Tianya Community on March 10, 2006. Its content began with the birth of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and finally Zhu Youjian, Emperor Chongzhen. During the online serialization period of "What Things in the Ming Dynasty", the monthly click rate exceeded one million people. As of March 2008, Mingyue published the dispute over the foundation of the Wanli Dynasty, published in April, Li Chengliang's rise in Liaodong and Nurhaci, and wrote about Wei Zhongxian's incident in July. It was published at the end of 2008 until the early years of Chongzhen, and Yuan Chonghuan was executed. It was later translated into Japanese, Korean and English and other languages. It has sold more than 5 million copies, making it the best-selling historical reading book since the reform and opening up of mainland China (there is also a saying is "the best-selling popular history reading book since the liberation of 1949"), one of the top ten best-selling books in the country, and the number one best-selling book in 2007-2008. He has won many honors such as "Sina Book Storm List", Dangdang.com's "Lifetime Five-Star Best Book", and "Excellent Amazon Bestseller Award".
