LXGW WenKai ^{Lite Edition} / Xiawu Wenkai ^{Light Edition}

To facilitate developers to embed fonts into the software, a lightweight version (Lite version) is provided according to the font library size of the early versions of Xiawu Wenkai.

As a streamlined version of the original Xiawu Wenkai font, compared with the complete version of Xiawu Wenkai, this font eliminates some less commonly used Chinese characters and proverb characters added to the full version, which is suitable for embedded in the APP.

If the full version has glyph optimization or feature updates, the lightweight version will also follow.

"Xiawu Wenkai GB Lightweight Edition" supports Unicode Variation Sequences (UVS) and is used to select the width of the tadpole quote “''” . Click here to view the list.

• Simplified characters corresponding to traditional characters contained in the original font library (only within GBK range);
• "Commonly used characters in modern Chinese" (old 3500 characters) and "Commonly used characters in compulsory education Chinese courses" (new 3500 characters, first-level character table of "General Standard Chinese Character Table"), a total of 3,603 commonly used Chinese characters;
• "Basic set of characters encoding for information exchange (GB/T 2312-80)" 6763 Chinese characters;
• 8105 Chinese characters included in the "General Standard Chinese Character Table";

Get fonts

ⅰ. Download

• Download the ttf format font file in the Releases interface or download it in the fonts/TTF folder of this repository.
• Yongshuo E disk and Lanzhaoyun (password: 8ppk) will be updated within 24 hours after the GitHub project is updated.

ⅱ. Generate from source code

Please run ./sources/build.bat or ./sources/build.sh . fontmake needs to be installed: pip3 install fontmake and fontTools : pip3 install fonttools .

Things to note

1. This font can coexist with the full version of Xiawu Wenkai. The font family name in the simplified Chinese environment is " Xiawu Wenkai Light Edition ". In other language environments, it is LXGW WenKai Lite , so please pay attention.
2. Since this font is a streamlined version, some of the more uncommon Chinese characters will be missing within the GBK range. If these characters are particularly needed, please download the full version.

This font is a Klee open source project developed and released by FONTWORKS based on SIL Open Font License 1.1. Klee is a trademark of FONTWORKS.

• This font can be used freely for both individuals and enterprises, without paying, and without knowing or indicating the original author. (But I would be grateful if I told.)
• This font can be freely disseminated and shared, or installing the font in a system, software or APP is also allowed, and can be bundled, redistributed and/or sold together with any software.
• This font can be freely modified and modified to produce derivative fonts. Modified or modified fonts must also be disclosed in SIL OFL.

limit

• When making derivative fonts, the font name cannot be used with the "reserved name" of the original font. This font retains the name "Xiawu" and "LXGW". Based on the font secondary derived from this font, the words "Xiawu" or "LXGW" cannot appear in the name; and without modifying the font source code, the recompiled fonts can continue to use the retained name "Xiawu" and "LXGW" of this font.
• According to Article 1 of the "Limitations and Conditions" of SIL Open Font License 1.1, the separate sale of font files (OTF/TTF files) is prohibited.
• This font cannot be issued under license other than SIL Open Font License 1.1.
