LXGW WenKai TC / Xiawu Wenkai TC

The Traditional Chinese Version of LXGW WenKai. Xiawu Wenkai Traditional Chinese Version.

introduce

This project is a traditional Chinese version of Xiawu Wenkai. Initially, AFDKO was mainly used in conjunction with the inherited characters and Kangxi old-shaped ttx files provided by Zonz (now inaccessible). The Chinese characters included in Klee One were converted into old characters, and the old version of "Xiawu Wenkai" characters were added before the modification, and some parts and single characters were further modified manually; then, refer to the "Inherited Character Standardized Document" of Yizifang to modify most parts, which is more suitable for traditional Chinese users and inherited characters enthusiasts.

"Xiawu Wenkai TC" supports Unicode Variation Sequences (UVS) and is used to select punctuation widths. Click here to view a list.

ⅱ. Generate from the original code

The complete build process can be run through make : make build . The current original code can only run on Unix-like systems and requires Python 3 to be installed.

Things to note

The font adjustment of this font refers to the "Inheritance Character Standardized Document" of Yizifang, but it does not pursue it completely. Some parts will make choices according to the situation (such as "句" parts, "句" parts, etc., because there are a large number of Chinese characters involved, they are not modified according to the "Check Table". In addition, some parts in this font use some common fonts that are slightly accommodating the needs of beauty included in the "Check Table", such as "句", "句", "句" and other components). If there are any problems with inconsistency of components, contour problems or other glyphs, please submit them in Issue #14. ~~If you have any additional words, please submit it in Issue #13~~ , don't start another topic. Because the font pattern becomes increasingly bloated, the font addition channel is temporarily closed after the release of v1.330, and the user's font addition request will not be accepted. Please understand.
If you need a standard shape for Taiwan education (i.e. "Taiwanese Mark"), please move to Coriander/Iansui; if you need a standard shape for Hong Kong, please refer to Coriander/JyunsaiKaai.
Regarding the Western fonts that can be matched, I personally recommend the Ysabeau series. There is also a merged font LXGW Bright of Ysabeau Office and Xiawu Wenkai series, which uses the font merging and completion tool to merge the two fonts. There is also a monospace font LXGW Bright Code that merges in Chinese and English, which is formed by combining Monaspace Argon and the Xiawu Wenkai series after being narrowed and adjusted.

limit

When making derivative fonts, the "reserved name" of the font name cannot be used with the original font. This font retains the name "Xiawu" and "LXGW". Based on the font derived from this font, the words "Xiawu" or "LXGW" cannot appear in the name; and without modifying the original code of the font, the regenerated font can continue to be used to continue using the retained name "Xiawu" and "LXGW" of this font.
According to Article 1 of SIL Open Font License 1.1 “License and Conditions”, the sale of font files (OTF/TTF files) is prohibited.
This font cannot be issued under licenses other than SIL Open Font License 1.1.
