Important
Things to note
This font is not a normal display font, does not include basic Chinese characters, and is only used as a backup font.
The project is currently in the testing stage, so there are not many words that can be supported, and some characters that do not meet local standards have not been modified in time.
Please feedback on the glyph adjustment and correction of glyph errors in Issue #1, and feedback on the glyph supplement requirements in Issue #2, and do not issue another issue.
Zhikai is a project that is based on FONTWORKS's open source font Klee One, and uses local fonts as the standard to supplement the unified ideograms of China, Japan and South Korea.
In December 2020, Japanese famous font manufacturer FONTWORKS released 7 open source Japanese fonts on GitHub. Among them, Klee One has the largest number of characters, and has the characteristics of imitation Song and Kai styles. It has an elegant appearance and high readability, which is very suitable for text layout. Many font designers/lovers have also made various derivative versions, such as "Xiawu Wenkai", "Coriander", "Coriana Yakai", etc. With the efforts of these people, a series of Klee One-derived fonts support enough characters to support some easily displayed as tofu blocks.
However, there are still a large number of Chinese characters in the extension area that cannot be displayed directly. The displayed text may either fall back to Song font, or be displayed as non-compliant with local standard characters, and more may be displayed as "tofu blocks".
Plan Kai is a project based on Klee One for character expansion and supplementation. The project was started by me in December 2022. The ultimate goal is to complete all Chinese characters included in Unicode as much as possible and produce some of the characters that originally did not have the style of Kaishi.
In this project, the "included characters" of each character table in the above content only selects the extension area A (part), extension area B to area I, and basic area for supplements, and does not include basic area Chinese characters. At present, the characters of the extended area A have not been fully filled.
Since version 1.330, the additional character channel of "Xiawu Wenkai" has been closed, so this project is currently considered to fill the target range of characters included in the "Xiawu Wenkai". If new characters are added to the subsequent version of "Xiawu Wenkai", this project will follow up accordingly.
Starting from the v0.01 version, in addition to supporting the imaginary G tag, the imaginary J tag has begun to support. Due to the huge number of characters, there is currently no support for the imaginary T/H tag. Starting from v0.016, this project has supported characters extending from G to I. Starting from the v0.020 version, the project began to support Kangxi radicals, Chinese-Japanese and Korean strokes, Chinese-Japanese and Korean compatible Chinese characters and their supplements.
饣钅,讠, simplified贝,车,长, etc.) are slightly adjusted to the writing method of the new characters in mainland China. The traditional printing characteristics of some simplified Chinese characters (the following folded simplified Chinese纟, the broken ㇜㇙ , the straight dot宀亠etc.) will also be selectively retained. This font is a Klee open source project developed and released by FONTWORKS based on SIL Open Font License 1.1.
