w3mplus is a free extension to the text browser w3m. It aims to mimic the functionality of Pale Moon + Pentadactyl + Vim and reproduce as much as possible on w3m. We also refer to information about Mozilla Firefox and Vimperator. The following functions are mainly available:
o , t , O , T , gh , guh , j , k , l , gg , G , 0 , $ etc.y , Yd , u , etc., and restore tabsWhenever possible, we use the unique features of w3m, but some of the features that are difficult to reproduce use the local CGI feature of w3m. Almost all Local CGIs are written in Shell Script using POSIX commands, and they are POSIX environment-compliant.
It has been confirmed to work in an environment with Debian GNU/Linux 10.13, w3m 0.5.3-37, dash 0.5.10.2-5, gawk 1:4.2.1+dfsg-1.
To use all the functions of w3mplus, w3m must be installed and a POSIX-compliant environment is required. Even if you are not in a fully POSIX-compliant environment, you can still use the features that do not use w3m Local CGI.
It is recommended that sh and awk commands be highly compliant with the POSIX environment. For example, mawk is currently unavailable due to the fact that it does not fully implement extended regular expressions, or there is a limit to the length of the regular expression. Therefore, we recommend using Gawk.
Download the latest version from the Releases page and unzip it. Go to the extracted directory and run release/install.sh to complete the installation.
After installation, you can find the manual in ~/.w3mplus/doc/index.html . The manual is also available online.
