MK Search is a powerful search extension for Typo3. It is easily expandable and varied. MK Search does not provide its own search engine, but only acts as a wrapper. In theory, connections to any search engines can be implemented. There are currently connections to Zend Lucene, ElasticSearch and Apache Solr for MK Search. Thus, both a pure PHP variant is available for entry, as well as a professional client-server solution for high-end applications.
In contrast to other search solutions, no websites are indicated at MK Search. The index is at the level of the data (corresponds to the tables in the database. Also the indexing of and searching in files such as PDFS is possible). This has the advantage in the search that the output can be designed according to the type of the data record found. You also have the maximum control over which information can be indicated and found later.
The index is generally asynchronous. Data that must be updated in the index first hike into a queue and are processed through a scheduler service.
